Having a proven successful website development track record, incorporating a
variety of website skills and disciplines gives you peace of mind that you have
got the right person when selecting a professional service to create your site.
With many years of experience I have developed websites for a large range of clients, this page shows a small sample of my work.
Every website shown here incorporates my work; some are individual projects and others are collaborative work. My experience includes working freelance, maintaining company websites and working for web agencies.
I am experienced in implementing CMS's including typo3, Joomla, CMSMS along with many in-house agency CMS's. I have also solely developed custom written CMS websites without any pre-written engines.
I always strive to create standard compliant websites that follow WC3 guidelines and address the various accessibility issues faced by those with disabilities such as visual impairment. I understand the need to maintain a clean look across all major browsers and develop websites that work in Internet Explorer 6, Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 3 as standard. I am also at ease with working with Safari, Opera and Google Chrome.
I am fully experienced with many web techniques including: XHTML, PHP, Javascript, CSS, and MySQL. I am skilled with all aspects of Javascript usage and have experience with bespoke code, AJAX and JQuery.
Along with my experience in web development I am also particularly skilled to an expert level in search engine optimisation (SEO). My work involves single handily maintaining client accounts, performing keyword analysis, code restructuring, on page optimisation and off page optimisation.
I developed The Alice's bear shop website whilst working for a web agency in 2008. I was solely responsible for developing the website using their in-house CMS.
The process of development started with me slicing the design files in Photoshop and developing a template file. From here I used Dreamweaver to create the website using the template file and the various CMS files required. Some pages demanded individual styling and special care was taken to keep the look and feel of the website uniform.
This website included a landing page, home page, various text/image pages and a category system allowing products to be grouped. Navigation through categories allows users to drill down to a specific product, enlarge the view and then make the purchase through Google checkout.
Amthao is an online game which I have been developing in my spare time over the past 18 months. The project is designed to allow me to take every skill I have and to implement them in a successful persistent browser based game (PBBG). Due to my limited time to devote to this project it still has a long way to go but already contains a large amount of valuable code.
The website includes:
This project contains large amounts of Javascript and Ajax that I have custom written and is hosted on a Linux / Apache server running PHP and MySQL.
Whilst developing this PBBG I have aimed to keep within the WC3 guidelines whilst keeping the website fully functional in all major browsers and accessible by as many people as possible.
